Registration for the competition implies acceptance of the rules of the French Federation of Triathlon FFTri (available at http://www.fftri.com/reglementation-sportive-0/) In the event of non-compliance with the FFTri rules, the competitor is subject to sanctions notified by the presentation of a yellow card (warning, compliance), blue (in the event of drafting on the cycling part) or red (disqualification).
Some major or specific points of the Obernai-Benfeld International Triathlon are recalled below.
1 single bib is given to the competitor. It must imperatively be fixed in at least 3 points on a bib belt. The wearing of bibs is prohibited on the swimming part and compulsory on the bike (at the back) and running (at the front).
Start & Swim:
Competitors must gather at the swim start in Benfeld 5 minutes before the start of each race, for the briefing.
Wearing a helmet is mandatory, the bib is on the back. A safety distance of approximately 3 m must be respected in relation to the bike in front. The overrun must be clear on a parallel axis.
The bib is positioned at the front.
After the final finish
In general :
Failure to comply with the environmental charter (throwing waste on the ground, abandoning equipment, clothing, accessories) is prohibited. Failure to comply with this rule harms the sustainability of the event and the image of the athletes.
Triathlon is a discipline of respect and in no case do I bother the competitors or make inappropriate or aggressive remarks. My parents and supporters respect the same rules in a sporting spirit.
Detailed race information:
All information on the detailed operation of the events will be communicated by a specific downloadable document and sent by email to each competitor on D-10.
Competitors must gather at the swim start in Benfeld 10 minutes before the start of each race, for the briefing.
Wearing a suit is compulsory below 16°C, optional between 16 and 24.5°C and prohibited above 24.5°C.
Nudity is strictly prohibited in the transition area. The change of clothes, if necessary, must be done out of sight. Obligation to wear the swimming cap provided by the organizer,
If the time limit is exceeded (see the time table), the competitor is disqualified by the refereeing body. The highway code must be respected, drafting is prohibited, respect a distance of 7 m (S & M) and 12 m (L) and clear overtaking on a parallel axis. Wearing a helmet is mandatory. The possible stop at the railway level crossing (approx. 35 sec.) does not give rise to an adjustment of the time.
Position of the aid stations: Format L at km 27, 5 (Col de la Charbonnière) and 63 (Ste. Odile) – Format M at km 28 (Ste. Odile)
If the time limit is exceeded (see the timetable), the running start or 2nd loop of the L format will be refused and the competitor disqualified by the refereeing body. Wearing a helmet is prohibited. A bracelet is given for the 2nd loop of the L.
Position of the supplies per loop: Formats M, L at km 0.1 – 3 – 4.5 and 7.2 – Format S at km 0.1 and 3.
Concerns a penalised triathlete with a blue card on the cycling part. The competitor must, on his own initiative, and under the control of the refereeing body, stop in the penalty area. It is located at the entrance to the transition area 2. The duration of the stop is 1 min for XS and S distances, 2 mins for M race and 5 mins for L triathlon.
The relay between swimmer and cyclist is done by contact at the location in the transition area N ° 1 in Benfeld and by transmission of the bib between the cyclist and the runner at the location materialised in the transition area No.2 in Obernai. It is allowed that one of the team member do 2 disciplines in their entirety.
